The Role

As an Associate Director Project Manager at MPM, you’ll play a key role in our Project Management team working alongside industry experts.

This role will be based from our Manchester Office.

What we're looking for

  • 2-3+ years of experience at Associate Director level
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in project management within the construction industry at a consultancy.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction/Project Management or a related field (this is not a must).
  • Hands-On Approach: This is not a role for ‘armchair project managers’. We need someone who is ready to roll their sleeves up, lead by example, and actively contribute to project success.
  • Construction Development Experience

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: 

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the successful delivery of construction projects & be accountable for entire project delivery. 
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. 
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 

Client Management: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.  
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction. 
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and work to expand client portfolios. 

Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing project management team. 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. 
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. 

 Business Development:

  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations. 
  • Identify new business opportunities and strategic partnerships. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market demands. 
  • Attend business development events as and when required by the business

Risk Management: 

  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. 
  • Implement effective risk management strategies. 

Project Management:  

  • Strategic Oversight and Collaboration: Expert in aligning organizational goals with project outcomes, a Project Manager excels in designing frameworks for seamless communication, risk mitigation, and resource optimization, fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Strategic Perspective and Stakeholder Alignment: With a keen focus on both project details and organizational vision, Project Managers formulate and refine strategies, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder alignment. They drive positive organizational change by adeptly managing resources, risks, and timelines. 

Financial Management: 

  • Oversee project budgets and financial performance. 
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. 
  • Implement cost control measures to optimise project profitability. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes. 
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to project management methodologies. 
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance service delivery. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities. 
  • Foster positive relationships with external partners.

Calling all Directors & highly experience Project Directors who are looking to help shape a fast growing team in London.

Motion Projects are construction Project Managers & Employers Agents. We specialise in highly operational areas which include Entertainment Districts, Arenas, Music Venues & Theatres, which can be some of the most challenging projects within the UK and EMEA. We also work across a broad spectrum of other sectors such as industrial, utilities and residential.

We’re looking for a highly results focused, driven individual with incredible inter-personal skills to manage and grow our London office.

With a lot of projects currently based in London and the surrounding areas, and more in the pipeline, we need someone to drive our London office forward.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is hungry to grow and manage their own team and office, as part of a young company with a proven track record for success.

Prior Chartered Director/ Project Director level experience is a must. Previous experience needs to be in a similar field to our work, especially focusing on complex masterplans within construction Project Management.

What we're looking for

  •  Have thorough knowledge of the RIBA Stages & deep understanding of JCT Design & Build projects
  • Detailed understanding of Project Management processes RICS/APM/CIOB

  • Experience in managing high-performing teams within Project Management
